Instead of waiting for some indeterminate “special occasion” to open up a bottle from our library, what better occasion than Friday night and a juicy 1.8lb bone in rib eye topped with sautéed mushrooms! Opus One’s web site says that the 2000 vintage is still a “hold” but it seemed like it had plenty enough

A fantastic pre-symphony dinner – oysters, frog legs, foie gras, pork belly, bone marrow, duck confit, and more with a 1982 Bordeaux which is older than some people I know (I’m talking about you Danielle, Lizzie, and Casey)
