We were feeling too lazy to make diver after our hike(for Andrea)/run(for me) in Tilden, but I found a last minute reservation at Zuni Cafe which I don’t think we’ve eaten at for over ten years. It fit the bill of being relatively my low key and close.
We started with some cocktails of course. Since we were going with the whole chicken, their signature dish, we had an hour until that would be rest so we had tsome oysters (Kumamoto and miyagi), then some of their shoestring potatoes, and then a Caesar salad. The shoestring potatoes came in a huge mound and we couldn’t eat half of it (took it home and they should reheat nicely in the air fryer).
The chicken came right on cue I was interested to see what their wood fires roast chicken would be like since we frequently make roast chicken in the BGE ourselves. The chicken was well seasoned and moist. Of course, we couldn’t eat even half of it so we have plenty of leftovers.
For dessert, we had the warm peach-pluot galette with honey over cream which was a decent end to the meal
