We just wanted something quick and tasty for lunch and Billingsgate is always an easy option for us. We always seem to get the same thing because it is always so good. We get oysters – 6 Kusshi and since Standish Shores. Andrea gets the dungeness crab and I get both the Spanish toasts and

This is the new restaurant from the husband and wife team previously at Lord Stanley. I didn’t want to try them at their very first week so I waited all the way until their second week to book this reservation (I know, I am so virtuous with patience, haha). We had only eaten once at

Jacob scheduled a dinner meeting with a vendor. Even though Dreamforce is going on, he was able to get us table since his cousin works at Quince. We ordered a bunch of starters to share – the Heirloom Tomato Caprese, Squid, Cranberry Bean & Calabrian Chili, Bluefin Tuna Crudo as well as a Porcini Mushroom

Another vendor dinner this week. I bummed an Uber ride with Steven so it was great to catch up. I don’t come down to Palo Alto often for dinner (last time was an event at Nobu). The vendor had rented out the whole restaurant for the event, so that was nice. From what I remember

Vendor dinner in the private room upstairs. Glasses of Billecart-Salmon champagne to start. Hors d’oeuvres were quite good. The caviar on the blini featured caviar hybrid kaluga (my favorite) from Petrossian. Other hors d’oeuvres included one made with sunchoke, one with beef tartare and a gruyere puff with truffle (don’t recall where it was from).

We were already in the Hotel Kabuki for Sake Day, I had planned for us to eat at Nari which is also in the hotel and also one of Andrea’s favorite restaurants. This was our 5th time here and we usually get the chef’s pick menu, but this time we decided to go a la

    Sake Day 2025

We haven’t been to SakeDay for who knows how long (can’t confirm in my e-mails), back when it was originally held in Hotel Nikko downtown. When we first parked about an hour before the event, we could see the line was about 50ish people deep already. We didn’t have much interest in just standing in

This was my third, Andrea’s second time dining here. Last time we were here, it was a wine maker dinner which was pretty mid in part because they essentially served all 20 of us banquet style, although the first time I ate here we had just ordered a la carte and it was fantastic which

    Gold Bar Whiskey Distillery

Had our departmental team building activity here at Gold Bar. I’m on the committee that helped plan the meeting and this activity so we picked this since none of us had been here. I’ve only been to Treasure Island once before when I did my first Olympic distance triathlon in 2007(!). I was amazed how

    Townhouse

I scheduled a work dinner before our onsite meeting since we so rarely get together since we are all remote and all over the country. I picked Townhouse since I’ve been here a billion times and is one of the nicest places in Emeryville (as far as I know. I haven’t had to go into
