Hamburgers
Kristine and Charlotte were spending their last night at our place before they flew back to their respective homes. It had been a whirlwind and Charlotte had mentioned how she hadn’t had a burger at all on the trip, so I said we could make them at home, so that’s what we did! Mind you,

Pride Mountain Vineyards
Andrea and I have been visiting Pride for more than 20+ years ever since I read about a very positive review of their wines in Wine Spectator back in the late ’90s. We’ve had many other wine club subscriptions come and go, but Pride has been the one consistent one. Kristine and I have been

Bouchon
Our last day in Napa for Kristine’s b-day weekend extravaganza and our last meal up here. Since didn’t make it to French Laundry on Thursday, we did want to at least try one of Thomas Keller’s other restaurants, in this case, Bouchon, his French bistro. The weather was perfect so we decided to take a

Morimoto Asia
Our final dinner in Napa. Kristine wanted to find something for the entire group that was reasonably nice and was going to be palatable to the entire group, so she picked Morimoto Asia (not to be confused with Morimoto). For drinks, I started with the flight of Morimoto sake which included a ginjo, and junmai,

Bella Union
After our tasting at Nickel & Nickel, we had a little time to kill before dinner, so some of us went looking for another tasting. Nancy at N&N told use we could just walk-in at Bella Union, one of their sister wineries in the Far Niente family. It seemed quite crowded and the facilities at

Nickel & Nickel
As part of Kristine’s b-day weekend, we were tasting at Nickel & Nickel where Dave was a member. We were members about 10 years ago and hadn’t been here since an event in 2013 having enjoyed their wines in the past (I saw we still have one bottle of N&N left, a 2009 Tench Vineyard.

Bottega
We had to juggle our schedule a bit and not a ton of options to book for 11 people last minute for Saturday within a certain distance from our 12:45 tasting at Nickel & Nickel, but Bottega turned out to be a very good option. We had an 11:30 reservation, some of us showed up

Press
Was thankful to be able to celebrate Kristine’s 50th with her and several of her other close friends (Charlotte, Lilly, and Dave) during this long weekend and especially on this day of her actual birthday. I won’t remember all of the details of the food since we had so much going on, esp. the conversations.

Spruce
Andrea was out of town so I’m home alone. So what’s an epicurean enthusiast to do…go out to brunch! We ate ere 5 years ago for dinner when it coincidentally happen to be white truffle season. It was 1-star restaurant back then, but they lost their star in the latest Michelin guide. I wasn’t really

Memento SF
We first ate here about a year ago shortly after they first opened. At that time, we thought it was a nice addition to the neighborhood. They’ve since added a very nice enclosed angled parklet that matches the angled parking adjacent. The menu is broken up into starters, shared, and mains. We wanted a salad
