Robin

This week’s dinner was at Robin. I hadn’t eaten here since before the pandemic, but Andrea had eaten here with Trisha since then. Back then, I really enjoyed the modern take on sushi and enjoyed the rap music playing as background music. So I was really looking forward to coming here again, but wondered if it would still be as enjoyable the second time around. We’ve eaten at so many other restaurants since that first time and I admit we’ve become quite snobby.

Fortunately, we did enjoy the meal quite a bit. Didn’t hurt that Tupac was playing when we were first seated 🙂. Sitting at the sushi bar is de rigeur and always a better experience for any omakase. So many bites to describe. Andrea tends to like anything spicy and I often go for most anything fatty. We always love uni. Wagyu bites were good. Truffle, only ok for me. caviar, decent. foie gras, can’t complain. All in all, a very good experience, but not quite as magical as a remembered it, but still a solid meal and experience.

I approve of the presentation. I particularly like the presentation on the wooden spoons on river rocks. Very zen.
