Mark, Eric and I were meeting Jacob, Joe, and Lindsey after our “Retail Experience” event for the conference where we had some fun mini-activities (make our own BBQ rub, monogrammed bandannas, and custom bolo ties) where we did snack (ribs, brisket, sausage if you can call that a snack). We met them at Loro which is an Asian BBQ place which sounded interesting. They were seated outside and the weather this evening was so perfect for it(not something I do much in SF), warm with a slight breeze. I ended up geting the Car Siew Pork Belly Rice Bowl (as did Eric) and Mark got the Spicy Japanese Curry Ramen. I also had to try the Mango Sake Slushee that Jacob recommended. The slushee sounded really interesting and was probably better on a summer day, but it was just too sweet for my tastes and not enough sake. My rice bowl was pretty tasty with all of the ingredients mixed together (Eric doesn’t eat veggies so he literally pulled all of those out). Mark’s ramen looked good although Mark didn’t come close to finishing it, so I don’t know if he was just full (he didn’t eat any meat earlier, so he wasn’t as full as Eric and I were) or it wasn’t very good. Very interesting concept and would definitely want to try again.
