Belated birthday dinner for Andrea. We started out upstairs overlooking the dining/kitchen/bar area below for our first 5 “snacks”. The food was pretty amazing. Great ingredients, interesting combination and layers of flavors, and impeccable presentation (local sourced, many aged ingredients, all sauces, butter, etc. made in house, interesting use of all parts). Wine pairings were well done and all were very good.
The experience is what’s very unique here. A lot of very attentive staff and the chefs are very accessible (you can just walk right up to the prep area and talk to them) and they announced/presented each dish. Communal dining was interesting and efficient, but not quite my cup of tea. The group of 4 one one side of us primarily just spoke to themselves and the couple to the side of us were nice. Almost everyone was there to celebrate something (e.g. anniversary, birthday) and the restaurant provided a wax-sealed card to the celebratee which was a nice touch.
Service was very well executed, but a bit rushed at times and busy with so many rushing about (and even then the entire dining experience was almost 3 hours). So that’s part of the tradeoff for a very efficient service on a schedule. Towards the end of our meal, the next seating was coming in and were upstairs above already with their starters as we completed our meal. Was an incredible and unique experience well worth a visit for a special occasion.
