MI/CDS peeps, look at the fossil I dug up to join me for dinner, John Lee (no he’s not here on FB). He’s here for a conference and was free this evening for dinner so he reached out. We talk regularly on Zoom, but we have not seen each other in person in over 35 years!
I wanted to make sure he had a memorable experience here. I met him after his meetings and had a Waymo (of course I did…Sci-fi author William Gibson once said “the future is already here, it’s just not evenly distributed”) take us to the restaurant.
I picked Sons & Daughters since I wanted to give John a unique dining experience and I’m so glad that he was game for whatever I had in mind. Andrea and I ate here a few months ago and were very impressed with the unique and very tasty take on modern Nordic cuisine as well as the well paired beverages. This time, with John, was an entirely different seasonal menu, but equally interesting and tasty.
I’m too tired to go into ask the details of the dishes, but one of John’s favorite courses was the scallop course. I also added the caviar course since John had never had caviar. They have a very unique presentation of caviar from the usual and I found it to be again be unique and creative compared to a traditional caviar pairing.
In any case, it was an incredible meal and most importantly, I was able to spend the several hours just talking with John who I hadn’t seen in person in over 25 years.
