Trisha had been wanting to eat here for the Sunday roast, esp. since there is a large sirloin that needs more than 1 person to consume. That being said, we ordered more than the three of us would be able to eat, but that’s the way we roll. We ordered cocktails to start.
For starters, we ordered the olives, the potato bread and smoked butter, a couple oysters, cod roe & crudite for starters. For our mains, we ordered the sirloin and the hay smoked roast chicken. The mains came with greens, roasted potatoes, carrots, and yorkshire pudding. On top of all that, we also ordered the cauliflower cheese. Whew! We also had a bottle of Ornellaia’s second label, Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia which was a good match for our meal.
For dessert, we had to get the toffee pudding. What’s not to like? We did also add some libations for dessert, a trio of “rare” (as listed on their menu board) whiskeys. They were out of the Pappy (and so moderately priced) so we went with The Singleton 25 year, King Georgve V, and Talisker 30 year.
