The Anchovy Bar

Andrea has been busy with work so she wanted to eat out. We decided on this place because we really enjoyed it the first time we ate here in January and wanted to come back. We wanted to sit at the counter again to get a bird’s eye view of the kitchen which is always fun for us. We started with the 6 varieties of oysters, our favorites being the Hama Hama, the Samish Pearl and the Valley Pearl, but all of them very fresh. Most of the menu was different than when we ate here last time which was a great opportunity to try a bunch of new dishes. The anchovy toast was our favorite…the pickled boquerones and the house made bread were delicious. Andrea also really like the sticky rice dish we had at the end. Everything else was solid – the chip and dip, the prosciutto, the Hikari Farms cucumber, the geoduck dashi porridge, the king salmon with harissa, and finally the prune chocolate pave for dessert. Wines were interesting and varied from many different countries which is anyways fun to try. All in all, another solid meal.

Yum. Boquerones! I thought Andrea didn’t like anchovies.
