Alexander’s Steakhouse
This week, we decided to eat at Alexander Steakhouse. This had not been on our radar at all since we have habitually been disapointed with steak when eating out except for two notable exceptions (Niku here in SF and Bazaar Meat by Jose Andres in Las Vegas. But since our fellow foodie, Trish, mentioned during…

Bazaar Meat by José Andrés
We’re here in Vegas to celebrate my Mom’s b-day. I was trying to find something that would be acceptable to all of us and something interesting. I was interested to try a Jose Andres restaurant since we actually haven’t eaten at one of his restaurants, but I actually didn’t have very high expectataions because it…

House of Prime Rib
We weren’t going to go out for dinner for my b-day (have plans on Thursday) today, but Trisha asked where we were going for dinner and she came up with the idea to come here. I have to admit both that, one, I’ve been wanting to eat here for awhile and, two, I haven’t eaten…

Niku Steakhouse
It had been awhile since we had eaten here (Jan 4, 2020 to be exact). Always so many restaurants to try here so we don’t repeat very often. But we’d been so disappointed with any other steakhouse (Mastros, Harris, STK), but we did have a great experience here last time. So when on our reservation,…

Mastro’s Steakhouse
We ate here since we were going to a show just a block away on Geary. I guess it’s a classic steakhouse. I had a bone-in ribeye which was charbroiled. It was ok, but I definitely prefer the way I make a steak on my BGE and definitely don’t prefer steakhouse pricing.

Harris’ Restaurant
In the 30+ years Andrea has lived here and the 25+ years I have, neither of us had ever eaten here, so it was certainly long overdue. As expected, it was old-school/classic from the decor, the cocktails, the menu, which we were in the mood to try. Andrea started with the Caesar salad and I…

Niku Steakhouse
For a steak geek like me this ended up being a fantastic experience. I am so routinely disappointed with steak at restaurants, since we cook ourselves on the big green egg, that I will rarely ever order steak at a restaurant. Here, we had the best seats in the house IMO where we were front…

Abe & Louie’s
Plamen recommended eating here…challenge accepted! Old school steakhouse. Pre-race dinner…dirty Ketel One martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, wagyu sirloin steak (still prefer my wood-fired ribeyes at home), and Stag’s Leap Cabernet blend. Yeah, I’m gonna pay for this at the race tomorrow, but c’est la vie, carpe diem, eat, drink, and be merry, etc.
