This is a new multi concept restaurant that just just added their 10-seat omakase counter a few weeks ago. Seating is not socially distanced like The Shota was, so was a little tight if you are concerned about that. Of course we went to the first seating since I’m old and like to go to bed early so I don’t want to eat out late but also because the service is usually better early on as was the case here as well. Andrea was the only non-Asian diner for the first seating (she’s such an egg).
Menu was solid and included some caviar/gold leaf (i have to say that gold leaf is always a bit gratuitous since it doesn’t add anything to the flavor, but I suppose arguably adds something to the presentation and the perception of luxury) and pleasantly fresh truffle (we’ve had too many poor truffle experiences). Being the hedonists that we are, of course we added the supplement which added Hokkaido uni, wagyu, and toro and we had the sake/wine pairing as well. Flavors were very good and had layers to it. Wine/sake pairings were decent. Pacing was very good (except for the slowdown at the end). All in all, it was a solid omakase experience for the money.
