Peter and I wanted to catch up over lunch. We picked Scoma’s. I last ate here when I still lived in LA in the 90s and would come up here for work. It’s in Fisherman’s Wharf so it definitely is here with all of the tourists, but it’s set a bit off from the main road. Restaurant definitely has an old school vibe in a good San Francisco history kind of way. I ordered a bloody mary to start (was fine). Bread was basically tasted exactly the way you would expect based on the way it looked. We both ordered the “Lazy Man’s” Cioppino because we wanted to try a classic and we both opted for the spicy broth. We meant to ask why it was called “Lazy Man’s” but we never did ask. In any case, the cioppino did have a nice thick tomato broth with a bit of spice as promised. Seafood was all exactly as you would expect. It was a solid meal and it was great to catch up with Peter.
