Impromptu dinner reservation today…it’s rainy and we didn’t feel like grocery shopping and cooking and we already have dinner reservations for tomorrow. I recently read an article (can’t recall where) about this restaurant although it’s been open since 2017. It’s an elevated Indian fusion restaurant. We miss Dosa ever since they closed and Indian Oven had been a disappointment for quite awhile now so we were hopeful about this place.
Cocktail menu is listed on an interesting taste wheel. I can’t say I was very impressed by them though. We ordered three small plates/starters – the beet salad, the tandoori octopus, and the glazed pork belly. Beet salad was decent thanks to the spices. We both agreed that the octopus was the best dish we had that evening. The pork belly didn’t come out until after all of our large/main dishes, so I think they just forgot about the order until I reminded them after the other two small plates came and before we placed the order for the large plates. The pork belly was ok and definitely wasn’t worth that wait at all.
For the large dishes, we went with the tandoori artichoke, vegetable and fava dumplings, and the lamb shank. The first two dishes (the artichoke and the dumplings) were both good thanks to the sauce/gravy that each of them came in. The lamb was ok.
Overall, the presentation was elevated and flavor-wise, everything was ok with some hits and misses but we really wanted a bit more flavor/spices to everything. It was an ok meal for what we were looking for, but we wouldn’t go out of it way to dine here again.
