Rich Table

This restaurant was the last one we ate at (3/12/20) right before the pandemic lockdown occurred. We remember having a great time so we were curious to revisit although they did lose their Michelin star in the latest guide. We had a 5:15 reservation and the restaurant was already quite full on a Thursday. Cocktails were quite good. We, of course, went with the tasting menu with the caviar supplement and wine pairing. This was a great way to get to try so many different dishes (16 in total!). I enjoyed the variety of dishes and the attempt at interesting flavor combinations, but in the end, I only thought the flavors were good, but not great. The wine pairings were ok at best. Andrea’s favorite dish was the burrata. Since the restaurant was so busy (glad to see them doing well), dishes were served at a fairly leisurely pace and service was generally prompt, but perfunctory. We were glad we came back to try this place again, but there are any number of other restaurants with a similar format that I’d rather go back to such as Ernest, Octavia, Frances, etc.

Colorful! Why do you eat dinner so early?

for one, it is generally easier to get a reservation early rather than during prime time, but more importantly, we finish earlier…
