We were just looking for something in the neighborhood since we’ve been too busy to even grocery shop. We were walking down 24th and I forgot this new Palestinian restaurant opened up. It looks so fancy for our hood, lol. So we inquired about walk-in. They were pretty packed but they did accommodate us at the high top window seats which we actually like that kind of seating. It puts us away from the crowds in our own little secluded corener and we get a nice view outside. Of course the high top swivel seats they had were super loose and there were moments I felt like I was going to fall off the seat because of how it wobbled.
In any case, we ordered several recommendations from our waitperson. The best was the cauliflower dish. it had a nice variety of flavors along with the nuts and the lemon juice. The mezze was standard. Pita was a too thick for my preference. There was a mother and her daughters who were also looking to do a walk-in and they asked us about the cauliflower dish and we told them it was great. They were seated outside right in front of us and we could see that they ordered it and finished it also. On our way out we did ask them if they enjoyed which they did and said they appreciated the recommendation.
The cheesy samosa was surprisingly bland. The lamb was just so so. I’m not sure I got a good sense of what was distinctly Palestinian, compared to general Mediterranean/Middle East cuisine other than the bottle of Palestinian wine we had (we were told was one of only 50 bottles. Hard to think about wine being made with everything going on there).
Overall, it’s a nice addition to the neighborhood and definitely attracted a lot attention from the foot traffic on 24th.
