Izakaya Rintaro
Impromptu dinner since we were at Rainbow Grocery and this place was around the corner and looked interesting. We sat outside since we were walk ins and that was all that was available. It worked out since our was a lot quieter outside than in.

Niku Steakhouse
For a steak geek like me this ended up being a fantastic experience. I am so routinely disappointed with steak at restaurants, since we cook ourselves on the big green egg, that I will rarely ever order steak at a restaurant. Here, we had the best seats in the house IMO where we were front

SPQR
I’ve been meaning to eat here for awhile and so I made a reservation for after watching Star Wars (my third viewing) at the Kabuki. We had, what I would say, were the best seats (for us) in the restaurant at the chefs counter. It was great to see the cooks and chefs in action.

Acquerello
(repeat restaurant) We definitely spent the day doing our bit to prop up the economy with our consumer spending on Black Friday. Started the day with shopping at Barney’s (going bankrupt closing sales) and Bloomingdales (I never imagined one could spend so much on sweat pants…Paul Smith, so they are pretty darn awesome). #33 old folks early dinner booked last minute. a very enjoyable meal overall. There wasn’t a tasting menu and wine pairing (we couldn’t remember the last time we ate at a Michelin Star restaurant that didn’t have a tasting menu) but it worked out great where they accommodate us and just shared all of our

The epoisse flambé for dessert was interesting but honestly I’d rather just have straight epoisse. The canele though was actually better than the ones we had in Bordeaux. Heitz was promoting a flight of wines which included their

Our last evening in Paris, so we decided to indulge ourselves (ha, as though we weren’t doing that the last 2+ weeks already…). The restaurant is basically located in a space with a museum and is across the Seine from the Louvre. We took the earliest seating at 7pm which is early by European standards

Château Cordeillan-Bages
Had to collect some Michelin stars while we’re here. Fantastic meal. We both ordered two different menus so we could try nine different dishes plus wine pairings (champagne for an apertif, two whites from Pauillac, a red from St. Estephe, a Margaux, and a sauterne). Everything I expect… Food, wine, service, location… from a Michelin

Nico
Thursday dinner at Nico. There are 62 Michelin starred restaurants in the Bay area and this was our halfway point… Number 31 on our current list. I’d actually call this a bargain relative to many of the places at which we’ve dined this year. Food was tasty and very well executed. Wine pairings were interesting
