Quince
This week’s dinner was at Quince which was a favorite of ours. I think this was our 5th or 6th time here, but it’s been 2 years since we’ve been back and the first time since they renovated. The renovations took pretty much the whole year last year. The space is much more open and

Atelier Crenn
I booked this for Andrea’s b-day. I didn’t recall that we had dined here 4 years ago in 2019 for her b-day as well until I looked it up here on Facebook. Also, prior to this becoming Atelier Crenn, it was Plumpjack where Andrea and I went on a date over 20 years ago… The

SingleThread
It was an action packed weekend with yesterday’s dinner at the Secret Cove with Outstanding in the Field and then a pool party with one of the partners with whom Andrea works in Healdsburg. Since we were up here, why not have dinner at 3-Michelin starred restaurant Single Thread, which is exactly what we did.

Spoiler alert: this was probably the best meal we’ve ever had…and also the most expensive. This restaurant was the main reason we came down here to the San Diego area. At our last Ritual dinner, the person sitting next to me said this was one of his best dining experiences. The following week was the

Manresa
We’ve been meaning to eat here for years, but we were preoccupied eating at so many SF restaurants. But if you want to say you’ve eaten at all of the 3 Michelin star restaurants in the Bay Area, you’ll undoubtedly need to dine here. Menu is a chefs tasting menu, of course, and we did

Quince
Still one of our favorite restaurants in the city. We eat out most Thursdays and theoretically this was an early b-day meal for me. We usually eat early, but I did book this last minute so we had a 7:30 reservation. Service was definitely busy compared to our last time here in September for an

Quince
Wow. We were very much looking forward to coming back here once they opened. Definitely the most expensive meal I’ve ever prepaid (tasting menu plus wine pairings of course) though. This was only the fifth service since they re-opened. This was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Food was amazing (and we

We both had PTSD from the horrific meal we had on Valentine’s Day at the Waikiki Marriott last Friday (to be fair we didn’t have a reservation so had to go where we could) so we wanted to cleanse our palates back in the safe confines of San Francisco. This was the last 3 Michelin

Atelier Crenn
Easily one of the best meal/experiences we’ve had, in our top 3 for sure. Very seafood/localvore menu. Preparation, flavors, wine pairings were sublime. Definitely earned all of its Michelin stars. We’d happily go back again.
