Wanted to try something new for lunch so decided to go to this new place in NoPa at the former Green Chile location. Owner is former sous chef from Lazy Bear and baker was formerly from Tartine. Andrea had the chop salad and I had the Cheezy Buddy smashed burger and we started an order of fries. Salad was a bit elevated from the usual. Burger was quite tasty (good seasoning and condiments), but I don’t think I’m ultimately a fan of smashed burgers since they are a bit too greasy and meat and cooked well done. Fries were pleasantly fried crisp, at tunes a little bit too crisp, but tasty as well, but again on the greasy side. Tasty meal, but much more heavy than I would normally have for lunch.

Yes to chopped salad. Sometimes nothing beats a good hamburger and fries. Smash burger: sacrifice rareness for crispiness. How can fries be too crisp? Unless they are just hard.
