Angela’s Organic Ice Cream

We wanted something sweet after eating at Tacolicious and we’ve been meaning to try this new ice cream shop in our neighborhood. It’s on the far easter end of the shops on 24th St. so it wasn’t ideally located since it wouldn’t get a lot of natural foot traffic. It was pretty empty when we got there, but even as we ordered and sat down to have our ice cream, it did get quite a bit busier. It will probably do quite well on the weekend. They were missing a good number of flavors (I wanted to try the 4-Leches, but they didn’t have it). It also looks like on the other side of the store they are setting up for coffee/espresso drinks and pastries.

We were pretty full after lunch, but we both wanted to try a couple flavors. Andrea went with a scoop each of the Peanut Butter Crunch and the Lavendar and I went with the Honest Strawberry and the Naughty Nana. The ice creams had a very nice airy texture to them, creamy (but seemingly less heavy thanks to the airiness), and not too sweet. It was nice that the lavender wasn’t a honey lavender (as much as I love honey) because that always makes it too sweet. The strawberry tasted very much like strawberry as the Naughty Nana tasted like bananas with a small stripe of brown or caramelized sugar. We both though the ice creams were great and hope to try many more of the flavors.
