This week’s dinner was at Sorrel in Presidio Heights area. We first ate here in June 2021 as one of the first restaurants when we started feeling comfortable eating out again after the pandemic. This time around, it was a vendor event (thank you CDW). We started with champagne and hors d’oeuvres outside and then moved into the restaurant. For this event, there was a panel discussion about the cybersecurity concerns of AI with some good points made that I could take back to work.
With the restaurant fully packed with our event, it was terribly loud (I know I’m getting old, but I don’t really enjoy having to practically yell just to speak to someone next to you, but we were fortunate to enjoy the company of the others seated at our table.
I’m too tired to go into the detail of each dish, but overall I was pretty impressed with the menu (and even more so since they had to serve all of us all at once for each course). Flavors were interesting and layered with the various sauces and seasonings. Wine pairings were quite well done (alsace riesling, sancerre, 1er Cru chablis, brunello, cain five cab, sauternes) and a bottled gifted to each of us (Failla Pinot) was a nice touch.
Interesting and topical event, good dining companions, and great food and wine made for a nice evening.
