We visited here during our previous visit to Sonoma last August and we were both not impressed. Apparently I’m a glutton for punishment (or maybe I’m just a glutton, lol) so I decided to give it another try. Couldn’t get a reservation so I just tried a walk-in. I was given a table in the front in the corner near the door where they would be a lot of foot traffic to the kitchen, but it was fine.
I started with a koiugn amann and a matcha latte. I don’t normally do a lot of pastries, but they looked good and the koign amann did as well. I thought it was ok. Would have liked it to be a bit richer, butterier. I have no idea what a traditional one is supposed to be like, but that’s a bit more of what i was looking for. My matcha latte was a chai latte instead. Oh well. It was so so.
I ordered the Pork in salsa roja with rice. It was fine. Not great, not bad. All in all, I’m not sure what is so great about the restaurant, although I’ve only been here for brunch which is perhaps not their best showing. Perhaps dinner is better, but usually when we’re in Sonoma, we’re eating dinner at Enclos, so…
