Dig Truffles? Foodie Experience & Truffle Lunch at Joseph Phelps
I’m not sure how I found out about this event, but since we enjoy truffles quite a bit, it seemed quite interesting. It’s actually a weekend of events, but the only one I signed us up for was the Dig Truffles? Foodie Experience & Truffle Lunch at Joseph Phelps. The main things that attracted me

Rutherford Hill Winery
We were staying at Auberge du Soleil mainly for relaxation and we literally hadn’t planned any wine tasting, but Rutherford Hill is basically right next to Auberge. We literally could have walked there in 5 minutes. There were a few options including an ATV ride up to the peak, the Skyloft, View of the Valley,

Obsidian Wine Co.
After lunch at Valley, we went to Obsidian partially based on the recommendation from Corner 103 and based on our memory of having had this wine before. The tasting room is set back slightly from the street of the plaza. We did a walk-in. They were fairly busy (packed inside and mostly outside) and they

Corner 103
We had a little bit of time in Sonoma and decided to just do tasting in the plaza. Andrea asked ChatGPT where to taste and this place came up as one of the top mentions. The tasting room was on a corner of course. We just did a walk-in and the place was empty. We

Pride Mountain Vineyards
Andrea and I have been visiting Pride for more than 20+ years ever since I read about a very positive review of their wines in Wine Spectator back in the late ’90s. We’ve had many other wine club subscriptions come and go, but Pride has been the one consistent one. Kristine and I have been

Bella Union
After our tasting at Nickel & Nickel, we had a little time to kill before dinner, so some of us went looking for another tasting. Nancy at N&N told use we could just walk-in at Bella Union, one of their sister wineries in the Far Niente family. It seemed quite crowded and the facilities at

Nickel & Nickel
As part of Kristine’s b-day weekend, we were tasting at Nickel & Nickel where Dave was a member. We were members about 10 years ago and hadn’t been here since an event in 2013 having enjoyed their wines in the past (I saw we still have one bottle of N&N left, a 2009 Tench Vineyard.

Chateau Meursault
Morning was tour and tasting at Chateau Meursault (located in Mersault of course). We tasted 8 wines (3 whites and 5 reds) four of which were premier cru and one grand cru). I liked the Pommard the best since it was so full bodied and tasted of dark fruit and Andrea’s favorite was the Corton

Domaine Faively
We did just a little bit of touring stone Romanee-Conti and Clos Veugeot and then headed to our tasting at Domain Faiveley. Since there was a bit of rain, everyone was sent home except for our hosts so again we were literally the only ones there at the entire property, which admittedly gave a more

Vosne Tasting Club
Another great day of tasting. First we had an appointment at the Vosne Tasting Club where we were literally the only ones there. They have this beautiful tasting room in a cellar where they serve and sell wines that we’ll not easily find back home. We enjoyed all five of the wines we tasted I’m
