Buttermilk & Bourbon
First dinner here in Boston with Matthias and Bella at one of the Krastel’s favorite places they discovered. Cuisine is Souther and Cajun. We definitely had to have the buttermilk biscuits which were delicious and were already honey glazed. They came with a couple spreads – smoked cinnamon butter and a pimento cheese with a

Toro
Last dinner in Boston for this short trip. This place was conveniently located with a short walk from the hotel and seemed to be very popular and favorably mentioned online. I was able to secure an early reservation for us. Since it was a tapas place, there were a bunch of things we ordered. For

Flour Bakery + Cafe
Back here for a late lunch after having moved Bella out of her dorm. This time I had the North Country Applewood-Smoked Bacon Sandwich (i.e. BLT) with an additional poached eggs and Matthias and Bella both ordered the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich. Decent. https://www.flourbakery.com

Abe & Louie’s
Plamen recommended eating here…challenge accepted! Old school steakhouse. Pre-race dinner…dirty Ketel One martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, wagyu sirloin steak (still prefer my wood-fired ribeyes at home), and Stag’s Leap Cabernet blend. Yeah, I’m gonna pay for this at the race tomorrow, but c’est la vie, carpe diem, eat, drink, and be merry, etc.

Neptune Oyster
Tasty brunch/early lunch of local oysters, a hot buttered lobster roll, and a local brew. Not too far from Paul Revere’s house, the Old North Church, Faneuil Hall. And as a bonus spitting distance from the Peet’s North End store.
