I was here in New Jersey for an AI and Cybersecurity conference from one of our VARs. Our account manager took me and a couple other of his customers out to dinner on the evening before the conference started. I was starving because on my flight out on United, they didn’t serve any food (and as it turned out my account manager was on the same flight).
This was pretty much a traditional steakhouse. For starters we ordered the Applewood Smoked Bacon and the Crispy Calamari. The “bacon” was really more pork belly than what you would think of as bacon.
I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye medium rare of course which was an 18 oz. bone-in which is usually my favorite cut. Steak was good, but I still prefer the steaks I make at home on the BGE.
For sides we had the Sauteéd Mushrooms, Sauteéd Spinach, Truffle Tater Tots, and the Sweet Potato Casserole.
For dessert I had one of the dessert specials, the bread pudding with strawberry ice cream and sauce. I actually didn’t hear the part about the bread pudding just strawberry so I had ordered that and was surprised when the bread pudding came out. I ate the ice cream though.
Overall, the food was typical steakhouse and it reminded me why I generally don’t like conventional steakhouses (Niku is more my style and it reminds me I’m overdue to dine there), but I very much did appreciate the gesture from our account manager.
