Sam’s Anchor Cafe

Expected to have a pretty nice day out, so we decided to go to Tiburon which meant a run for me. I’m not fully back in shape so Andrea dropped me off in Sausalito which meant it would be about a 10-mile run and I would meet her there. Last couple times we came here, we ate at The Caviar Co. and Bungalow Kitchen, so we were due to try Sam’s again. Weather was a perfect for sitting out on the deck at Sam’s. Of course, it seemed like everyone else had the same idea. But there are a lot of tables and they turned over fairly quickly so we put our names on the wait list where we were 14th.

We went over to the inside bar to get some drinks. Bar was actually full as well, but we were able to get some drinks while we waited. Andrea had Hermosa Picante and I had the Reposado Royale. After about 30 minutes, we were up for our table.

There was a super loud table of guys seated behind us and on-brand they ordered the Party of 4 “Oar” More which is an our that holds 4 shots spaced out and 4 people have to line up as they tip the oar to all take their shots. Always entertaining though to see people do that. We placed our orders quickly since it was so crowded. We started with drinks, a dozen oysters, and the artichoke dip with the crab meat. For mains, Andrea had the Orzo Spring Salad and I had the Fish and Chips. Everything was pretty so-so (and of course somewhat pricey), but that’s not really the reason you eat at Sam’s. You come for the ambiance and the views which were plenty on such a beautiful NorCal day.
