This was our first meal on our recent trip to London. For better or worse, we were eating out on New Year’s Eve. We did schedule this early since we didn’t really want to be out into the evening. We had cocktails at Gymkhana’s sister cocktail lounge, 42, beforehand.

There was a special NYE tasting menu which was steeply priced with a 50% premium over their usual tasting menu. In general, we liked the meal, but it didn’t seem 2-star good. Some of the ingredients were certainly evevated (e.g. the lobster and caviar). One of our favorite dishes was the beetroot halwa for dessert.

Overall, the food was good, but it was hard to think of being 2-Michelin star good and the pricing seemed a bit ridiculous with NYE premium.
