Truffle day #1: Gnocchi, fried egg, fonduta, barbaresco

It’s hump day so what better occasion to have summer truffles overnighted (it actually takes 2 days) from Provence (thank you Les Pastras!). This was actually our replacement shipment of truffles because DHL held up our original order in Ohio for a week while the truffles died (cue fungicide funeral dirge, #firstworldproblems). We made a 3 course truffle meal, Italian style – gnocchi, fried egg, and fonduta paired with a 2010 barbaresco. We ordered 200g of truffles so we were quite liberal with the truffles. We’re making the best of SIP – good food, good wine, with a good friend.
