Truffle day #3: Steaks
Truffle day #3: We went with wagyu bone in rib eye steaks from our local butcher Baron’s Meat & Poultry. I had one steak and Andrea and Trisha split the other. Sides included mini baked potatoes and salad. For the wine, we went domestic with one of our standbys – a 2012 Pride reserve claret.

Truffle day #2: Souffle
Truffle day #2: we went French today… truffle soufflé with shaved truffle. Our Burgundy is a bit depleted in our wine collection so I had to go with a 2013 Louis Jadot from Beaune (which is where we would have been staying in Burgundy next month before the pandemic happened). soufflé is one of my

Truffle day #1: Gnocchi, fried egg, fonduta, barbaresco
It’s hump day so what better occasion to have summer truffles overnighted (it actually takes 2 days) from Provence (thank you Les Pastras!). This was actually our replacement shipment of truffles because DHL held up our original order in Ohio for a week while the truffles died (cue fungicide funeral dirge, #firstworldproblems). We made a

Acquerello at Home meal kit
Extending our covid social bubble slightly to include Trisha. We started with some dirty martinis and caviar. Flour+Water Pasta Shop
For Friday night dinner, we ordered from Flour+Water Pasta Shop. We never managed to make it to the restaurant pre-Covid, but at least we had a chance now. We started with some prosciutto. Next was an arugula salad. The pasta was an Agnolotti with a duck and pork filling paired with a 2009 barbaresco we

Eggs, truffle, leftovers for breakfast
It looks a bit of a mess, but put together leftovers for lunch/brunch. I fried a couple of eggs that have been sitting in the container with the truffles since Wednesday, reheated the mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts from the other evening, and covered liberally with the last of the truffles. Not the prettiest plate,

Fonduta, Truffle, Barolo
Truffle dinner #4 (and probably last for this round): fonduta with some crostini and broccolini and a tasty 2009 barolo.

Steak, truffle, bordeaux
Truffle dinner #3: a juicy rib eye, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts with pancetta with a bit of balsamic, a 2009 Saint-Emilion, and lots of truffle!
