Larry reached out to for something and so we realized we need to catch over lunch. I suggested we try the burgers at Niku Butcher Shop which I’ve been meaning to try for awhile now. You have to wait out front until they call you so that they only have one group in the shop at a time. We both went with the wagyu butcher’s burger over the smash burger since neither of us are fans of smash burgers. We did order fries and their cookies which are made with wagyu fat. Order came up quickly enough. No seating since it’s just a butcher shop, but there are some public benches out front. Very awkward to eat that way. Burgers are pretty messy/juicy. They were cooked well done even though we asked for medium rare. In the end, we both agreed that it’s fine as a burger, but nothing special. Fries were good. Also came with kettle chips which we didn’t realize and didn’t need so much since we had the fries. Cookies were ok (I only had a couple bites, but did have them with my coffee the next morning which worked very nicely). So all in all, fine, but a not really any better than a regular decent burger joint and just logistically, it’s very awkward with no real seating. They did let us wash our hands in the shop since they were all greasy after eating (or bring your own wet naps).
