Breakfast at The Restaurant at Auberge du Soleil

This was our first breakfast here which was also a free perk since we had booked through the Chase travel portal. We saw some of the same diners as we saw at dinner the previous evening (and they were also seated at the same table). We we first given a little ginger cake dusted with powdered sugar. A bit on the dry side, but would be ok with a coffee or other warm beverage. At dinner last night, the GM recommended two breakfast dishes that were both right up my alley since they both had eggs.

So for today, I went with the Esperanza which was basically their version of huevos rancheros. The black beans and a generation portion of scrambled eggs were on top of fried tortillas. The eggs were topped with a delicious housemade salsa, an avocado, and cilantro. On the side was a flour tortillas and a lime. I really enjoyed this dish although I’m not fond of how the crisp tortillas become mushed when smothered with everything else.

Andrea ordered the Strauss Yogurt Parfait and a side of bacon. The parfait had the granola on the bottom, then the Strauss yogurt (we purchase this brand most of the time we purchase yogurt) and some fresh blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. The granola was tasty with a oat-forward flavor to them. The main criticism was that the granola also became quite mushy at the bottom of the parfait.

Bacon was fine to me (I ate a bit plain and also tore some up and put it in my huevos ranchers too FTW), but Andrea just thought they were ok.

Overall, we felt the breakfast here was a very good breakfast (better than the dinner was for what it was supposed to be) and even better that it was free, haha.
