Valley

We were looking for someplace for lunch. This place was listed as a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin guide, so why not. We took seating the patio area in the back under a large canopy to provide share to all of the tables. A large percent of the tables had young children/babies including a baby shower in the small section off to the side.

We were hungry so ordered right away. For drinks, Andrea ordered a wine spritzer of some kind and I had a matcha latte with oat milk. We also placed our orders for our meals which in my case was the Calabacitas with fried eggs and chile oil and Andrea ordered the Parisian breakfast (croissant, ham, egg, tomato, cheese). Our food came out quite rapidly which was nice although our drinks were MIA for awhile.

I ordered the calabacitas having never had it before which was the point to try it. I had very quickly googled it before ordering and misunderstood and thought it was a vegetable stew with pork, but was all vegetables (again, my misunderstanding). Still, it was pretty tasty. Fried eggs were over hard though so the yolks were entirely cooked through (boo). Andrea’s Parisian breakfast was fine for what it was, but it was largely pre-made items arranged on a plate. So I don’t think we got the best of what this restaurant had to offer and would be more interested in trying one of their menus other than brunch (or at least something more eggy for me).
