Dash

We were looking for a quick and easy low key dinner (and ideally healthy), so we walked down to Dash. Last time we walked by here on a Friday, it was packed. Today on a Tuesday, maybe half full.

We ordered a half bottle of Dassai 45 which was actually better than I remember it being the last time we tried a bottle of it. At least in this case, it seemed a reasonable cheaper alternative to the Dassai 23 that we usually have at home.

We ordered a few pieces of nigiri – hamachi, sake, hon maguro. This came out very quickly and was all decent. What we really came for was some ramen/soup since it was kinda cold (for SF) out. Andrea I sometimes have opposite flavor profiles – she ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen since she loves spice and I ordered the Oden, “a winter stew w/boiled egg, daikon, konjac & processed fish cakes in a light soy-flavored dash broth.” We both enjoyed our respective dishes, although it was too much to finish so we took home leftovers (which became a nice lunch the next day).

In any case, the restaurant isn’t anything particularly special, but it’s good enough and convenient. I can see why it is so popular in our nieghborhood.
