After the race I thought I would just grab a burger, but I took a hot shower and a short nap and felt adventurous again so ended up finding a nice place to eat. Had some Hudson Valley foie gras with a toasted brioche stuffed with duck confit(!) and a grand cru St. Emillion. That’s my kind of recovery food! Then a halibut with lobster risotto and a lobster veloute paired with a trefethen Chardonnay. Call it a sort of turf and surf. I mentioned that with the halibut dish I didn’t see any white asparagus per the menu. They talked to the chef about it and apparently they puréed the white asparagus and only presented green asparagus tips, so they comp’d me a dessert. Very nice of them. I was so full so I just went for some home made chocolate ice cream.
