We stopped at a food court at Dahivati Tarf Boreti, roughly the halfway point from Mumbai to Pune for some breakfast. Our driver took us to this shop, Aapla Maharashtra. We tried a couple local Pune dishes, Sabudana Khichdi and Poha. The Sabudana Khichdi was distinctive for it’s tapioca pearls and spices which had a bit of of bouncy al dente texture to them The Poha was distinctive for the flattened rice colored by turmeric. It was a tasty quick bite for breakfast! Lastly, we had mango lassi. Yum!

I am not a fan of tapioca pearls—the texture. So bouncy. This is why I am not a fan of boba. I love tumeric in rice. I often put tumeric in my rice. Why not? Extra color, extra nutrients! Also, I love mango lassi. Mango is my favorite fruit.
