Ramsay’s Kitchen

All of our respective flights were delayed getting to Las Vegas, so by the time we checked in and went to dinner it already 9:30pm, late for all of us esp. the Floridians.

We ended up going to Ramsey’s Kitchen. We were all starving, but fortunately service was very prompt including the food (we ended up literally being the last guests in the restaurant).

Had some oysters to start. I had the onion soup which included a toast with oxtail and cheese to start. For my main, I had to try the beef Wellington since that’s always one of the signature dishes on his show honestly, it was only ok. Sauce was nice. The one Andrea makes every year (and we had on Christmas) was waaay better.

Andrea had the beet salad (ok, but beets not very sweet at all, but be fair we are in the middle of winter). Trisha had the crab cake and broccoli with were good. My parents also split an onion soup and the salmon dish.

For dessert we had the toffee pudding, which was delicious and surprisingly much airier and lighter than it looks) and a chocolate pot du crème.

All in all it was a good, quick meal together which is what we all needed at the end of the day.

Looks good. For so much hoopla around beef wellington, I’d honestly rather have a really good grilled steak or even a really good beef empanada. I keep thinking the beef gets steamed in a wellington. Not sure the pastry adds that much to the dish anyway. I’d also have a fattier cut of beef than what they use in a wellington.
