We had just been walking around after the movie/concert at Royal Albert Hall and then also did a quick visit to the Design Museum and wanted to grab a quick drink before heading back to Trisha’s apartment. We just popped into this place. It was kind of funny because they were all still decorated for Halloween and then staff was dressed up in striped prisoner costumes. There was only one other person in the lounge at this point, but unfortunately they were smoking and even though they were on the opposite side of the lounge, it was quite noticeable. Other than Vegas, I can’t remember the last time I was in a place that had indoor smoking and not in such a relatively small area. Sigh.
Trisha ordered some champagne and Andrea and I ordered some Hendrick’s G&Ts. Andrea asked to not use too much tonic because we like our G&Ts strong and spirit forward rather than tonic forward. They said they give us the tonic (fortunately they use Fever Tree tonic and it seemed like everyone did here in London) to pour ourselves, but they could do a double portion (50cl) of gin or even do a US pour of gin (basically a triple pour) which we opted for. They served the G&Ts in a big wine glass. They did put a little sparkler on the table which was amusing/cheesy.
