We had picked up fruits and vegetables at the small local market in Kona and were just walking around and stopped here to get some drinks and some nibbles. We started with cocktails – A Dill With It Martini for Andrea and a Templue Resurrection with the upgrade to Monkey 47 Gin (same gin as the cocktail I had at Oriole). Decent enough.
For our first bite, we ordered the Sashimi Grade Ahi Carpaccio which was dressed with a citrus ginger ponzu and some serrano chiles. Good enough. We were still hungry so we ordered the Temple Baba Ganush. This was made with eggplant from Makuna Raw Farm and black tahini and topped with macademia nut cheese, tomatoes, radish, and cucumber and served with a side of flatbread which was pretty tasty.
Second round of cocktails – Flight Delay (mezcal, Aperol, Amaro Montenegro, lime juice) for me and the The Devil’s Soul (mezcal, bourbon, St. Germain, Amaro Montenegro, Aperol) for Andrea.
