Yesterday we grabbed drinks at the bar in the 1 Hotel before our event there. The hotel used to be the St. Regis, was renovated for 3 years during Covid and then opened as new wellness focused hotel. Views were fantastic and the hotel seems much less stuffy (very open, more greenery, more wood, etc.) than the St. Regis was.
The event we were attending was an appetizer/charcuterie curated by Top Chef All Star Chef Melissa King (who still lives in the Sunset district in SF). The food was decent…some local flavors and good amount of Asian bites and flavors as well. Wine pairings by the somm were enjoyable as well. It was fun to be able to chat with her as well as our fellow diners.
It was an enjoyable time for our last night here. We had a fantastic trip, but it will be nice to go home too.
