We were in Oakland on Piedmont running some errands and walked by this pasta shop. We popped in to take a look and were blown away how great their pasta looks. They were actively making more pasta too. So we had to buy something. We decided to try something a little different and went with the Casoncelli Bergamaschi which I don’t think we’ve ever had. It’s described as “My Mom’s Bergamo style stuffed pasta with beef, prosciutto, pork shoulder” and the accompanying sauce is smoked pancetta, butter, sage, and Grana Padano D.O.P cheese so we order a couple kits of that (each kit is a single serving). We ended up making it the next night for dinner and it was fantastic, albeit a bit heavy (the pasta, filling, the butter, cheese), but so good.
They also have their restaurant not too far away on College Ave., so if we’re even in the area, we’ll definitely have to give that a try.
